Carla Malchuk is a self-taught artist from Vancouver B.C., Canada, who has been drawing since late 2008. She specializes in black and white portraits, but is trying to branch out into color portraits and other styles of drawing. Carla hopes to start painting and to begin in photography. Although art is her way to express herself, Carla is also interested in reading, music, and camping.

Though not inspired by any favorite artist or single experience, Carla is driven by the way it feels to see a finished project.  Drawing is a way to express her feelings through an image rather than words. The feedback from family and friends also fueled her to keep drawing and to make progress.

Just recently, Carla has began doing commissions, and her ever-growing passion for drawing has brought her to consider attending art school.
